Wolfpack Capture Elusive Perfect Regular Season

After two failed bids at undefeated regular seasons, the New Hampshire Wolfpack finally sealed the deal with a 30-8 victory over the Gardner Sabercats. The Wolfpack have wrapped up the number one seed for the playoffs and will host the Southern NH Beavers Saturday October 15 6 PM at Manchester West High School. The Wolfpack have beaten the Beavers in three straight games and will look to go 3-0 against them in 2011.

Pack Out Muscle Marauders, Finish First Half At 5-0

The Wolfpack traveled to Keene NH to take on the struggling 0-4 Monadnock Marauders on Saturday. The Wolfpack played without several key players, not the least of which being 2010 NEFL A MVP Jim Sanford. Jimmy Russell, normally a receiver, filled in at QB and didnt miss a beat throwing for a 40 yard TD to WR Brian Carrier and adding another 75 yards rushing and a TD on the ground. Rookie RB Jacob Staffiere and RB Mike Zappala added TDs on the ground.

The defense continued its aggressive play with DB Kevin Sledge nabbing an interception to end a Marauders drive late. LB Tommy Landry added several tackles and passes defended in only a half of play.

The Wolfpack will host their second home game of the season this Saturday when they welcome the 1-4 Gardner Sabercats to Manchester and look to stay unbeaten. Kickoff is at 8 PM at Manchester West High School.

Wolfpack Cruise Past Beavers 28-12

A hyped rivalry game between the undefeated Wolfpack and the 2-1 Beavers turned out to be little contest. The Wolfpack running game was dominant early and RB Mike Zappala capped the opening drive off with a ten yard run for a TD. Tackles Kevin Handy and Zach Monteer, guards Mike Harrison and James Hathaway and center Matt Bracani were dominant early and outclassed the Beavers' front.

The offensive line creates an enormous hole for RB Mike Zappala.

The defense continued their record pace for turnovers as they forced six turnovers. DB Ray Speight had two interceptions to go along with one each by DB Mike Smith and LB Tom Landry.

QB Jim Sanford had multiple TD passes for the fourth straight game both of which went to WR Chris Corcoran. Return man Corey Beck continued his breakout season with an eighty yard return for a TD to round ou the scoring.

The 4-0 Wolfpack will try to finish the first half undefeated when the travel to the 0-4 Monadnock Marauders this weekend. The game will take place Saturday at Keene High School and will kickoff at 6 PM.

Beavers Look To Spoil Undefeated Wolfpack For Third Straight Season

A 28-14 win over the Woonsocket Wardogs and a 42-12 win over the Southern Vermont Storm have set the Wolfpack at 3-0 for the third straight year. DB Kevin Sledge put and end to the driving Wardogs hope for a tie last week when he returned a 90 yard interception for a TD to set the final score at 28-14 in the first of the Wolfpack's cross division games against WoonsockeWR Corey Beckt.

The Wolfpack proved this past weekend that they are an improving team and turned a 24-9 season opening victory against the Storm into a 42-12 demolition rematch against the Storm this past weekend. Rookie WR Corey Beck had 130 yards receving and 200 yards in the return game to go along with his 3 touchdowns. LB Tommy Landry proved why he is a perennial MVP candidate with 20 tackles, 2 sacks and a tipped pass that turned into an interception.

A 3-0 Wolfpack means that for the third straight season the rival Southern New Hampshire Beavers will look to end the Pack's bid at perfection. It may not be the final week battle of the undefeateds from 2009 and 2010 but the winner of this game will be in sole posession of first place in the division and a Wolfpack win would put them two games up on the second place Beavers.

LB Tommy Landry huddles the D.

The game will take place this Saturday night 7 PM at Tyngsboro High School.

Wolfpack Win Opener 24-9 Over Storm

The Wolfpack began the 2011 campaign with a 24-9 victory over the Southern Vermont Storm this Saturday. The defense forced four interceptions with two from LB Rob Johnson and one each from DB Ray Speight and LB Randy Leroy, who also registered a sack.

2010 NEFL A Offensive MVP Jim Sanford found the endzone early with scoring passes to receivers Pat McGarry, Jimmy Russell and Corey Beck. WR Brian Carrier paced the offense with 13 catches for over 100 yards.

The Wolfpack (1-0) will travel to Barry Field to take on the Woonsocket Wardogs (0-1) this Sunday July 24 at 4 PM.

2011 Team Captains Announced

Congratulations to CB Mike Smith and C Matt Bracani who have been voted as the Wolfpack Team Captains for the 2011 season. Each game they will be joined by an offensive, defensive and special teams game captain that will be appointed by the coaching staff.

Wolfpack Overpower Storm, Earn Semi-Final Rematch With Beavers

Despite an early 7-6 defecit, the New Hampshire Wolfpack returned to form Saturday with an impressive 37-7 victory over the Southern Vermont Storm. The defense, led by linebacker Josh Levesque's two interceptions, forced six turnovers on the day and compiled five sacks.

It seemed as if Kicker Pat McGarry's leg would again be the difference in the game, but the Wolfpack offense rattled of 31 unanswered points with scores from Chris Cochran through the air and Chase Smith, Leniol Jeudy, and Kyle Snow on the ground.

The Wolfpack will travel to Tyngsboro MA this Sunday for a rematch against the Southern NH Beavers who ended the Wolfpack's bid for a perfect season with a 21-19 win in the regular season finale.

Wolfpack Prepare For Playoff Battle, Partner To Repair Local Vandalism

Kicker Pat McGarry was the difference in the Wolfpack's 19-7 victory over the Storm earlier in the regular season. This time the Wolfpack are looking to have a little Karma on their side. The Wolfpack have partnered with Peter Jennings of www.hrconcepts.biz and the Richard Anagnost Co. in order to help repair fire damage at Manchester Memorial High's football field due to vandalism this past week. All proceeds from the Wolfpack's second round playoff game against the Southern Vermont Storm will go to help repair the field. The game will take place Saturday October 9th 6:30 PM at Manchester West High School. Come support Machester's local semi-professional football team's championship run and aid the repair of Memorial High School's football field.

Vermont's Best Fall as Storm and Ravens Cant Stop The Streak

Any athlete can tell you about home field advantage. It can level the playing field and cause headaches for even the best of visiting teams. The New Hampshire Wolfpack can be called defending champions, undefeated, and now you can add road warriors to that list. Four straight out of state road games werent enough to slow the 'Pack who outscored opponents 141 - 24 over the last month.

The first place New Hampshire Wolfpack (6-0) have a scheduled bye week and will return home for a September 11th Memorial Game against the Seacoast Vipers (2-3) on Saturday September 11th. The game will start under the lights at 7 PM at Manchester West High School.

Wolfpack Cruise Past Cobras, Secure A Return Trip to the Playoffs

It was a familiar scene in Waterboro ME on Sunday as the New Hampshire Wolfpack's second road test of the season turned out to be anything but. A 33-7 victory not only helped the Wolfpack move to a perfect 4-0, but helped to secure the team's third straight trip to the playoffs.

Brian Carrier and the Pack offense overcame early turnover troubles and continued their 2010 scoring surplus. Carrier continued his scoring streak by snagging two TD passes from QB Jim Sanford. WR Mike Williams caught another score through the air, FB Leniol Jeudy added one on the ground, and K/WR Pat McGarry hit 35 and 45-yard field goals to round out the scoring.

Despite giving up their first TD of the year, the defense turned in a balanced performance. A solid DL rotation of Dan Hynds, Rob Brown, Artie Brown, Rick Fitzgerald, Mike Levesque, and Joey Galvin gave the opposing offensive line fits all day. FS Leon Henderson also added an interception.

The Wolfpack (4-0) will travel to Manchester Center, VT to take on the Southern Vermont Storm (2-1). The Wolfpack are 0-1 at the Applejack field as the Storm handed them their only playoff loss in franchise history in the 2007 postseason. A win for the Wolfpack will also solidify at least a #3 seeding for the playoffs.

Wolfpack Take Bull by the Horns, Handle Rampage 47-3

The New Hampshire Wolfpack aced their first road test of the season this past Sunday with a 47-3 win of the Central Vermont Rampage. QB Jim Sanford and the Wolfpack offense piled up a 47 point led at half time and the defense closed the deal by only allowing 3 points in the second half.

Receivers Pat McGarry and Brian Carrier both added scores for the second straight game. The Wolfpack have now scored a total of 154 points and average 51.3 points per game.

One the defensive side of the ball the Wolfpack gave up their first points of the year but average a staunchy 1 point per game allowed on defense so far on the year. Linebacker Tommy Laundry led the defense with double digit tackles and book ends Rick Fitzgerald and Mike Levesque entered the opposing back field at will and claimed two sacks a piece.

The Wolfpack (3-0) will travel to Waterboro ME this Sunday for their second game in their four game road trip when they take on the Notre Dame Cobras (2-1).

Pack Continue to Dominate, Roll Past Overmatched Bulldogs 56-0

FB Leniol Jeudy powers his way over a Bulldog defender.

Despite the pressure of a title defense, a one loss 2009 season, and an immaculate week 1 performance, the New Hampshire Wolfpack improved in every aspect against the Northeast Bulldogs in their 2nd game of the 2010 season.

QB Jim Sanford and WR Pat McGarry continued to feed their chemistry in their 3rd season together by connecting for 2 scoring passes on the day. FB Leniol Jeudy plowed through Bulldog defenders to add another score along with fellow back mate Chase Smith, who notched a score of his own.LB Jim Levesque celebrates after a score.

Defensive standout John Pilvelis built on a dominating week 1 performance by wreaking havoc in the Bulldog backfield and adding a forced fumble which allowed Wolfpack Hall of Famer Jim Levesque to add a second TD to his resume.

Slot machine Brian Carrier did his best Wes Welker impression by turning a short reception into a 40-yard TD, shaking off several would be taklers along the way.

The Wolfpack (2-0) will have their first road test of the season against the Central Vermont Rampage (2-1) next Sunday in Rutland VT.

Wolfpack Defense Dethrones Kings In 51-0 2010 Season Opener

How do you improve a top ranked championship winning defense? The Wolfpack apparently had the answer on Saturday as they hosted an overmatched North Berkshire Kings squad at Manchester West High School.Captain Mike Zappala prepares to shake off a Kings defender

An early Mike Zappala rushing touchdown would be all the Pack needed to win, but the scoring certainly wouldnt stop there. QB Jim Sanford and the Wolfpack offense would make the most of their meager 6 possesions by scoring on 4 of them, with one drive being cut short at the end of the half and another ending due to a questionable fumble call. The offense's 4 TDs would be more than enough to seal the victory but just enough to edge out the Wolfpack defense, which added 3 TDs of its own along with 2 safeties.

DE Dennis Hill scoops a forced fumble by rookie John Pilvelis.

Offseason pickup John Pilvelis more than proved his worth by notching 8 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles, one of which was returned for a 55-yard score by DE Dennis Hill. Other defensive standouts were Dan Hynds who scored his first TD in an 8-year career, LB Zack Wedemeyer who added another score, and DE Rick Fitzgerald who finished the day with a punt block, safety, and 1.5 sacks.

Offensive scoring came from FB Leniol Jeudy with a 10-yard rushing TD, RB Kyle Snow with a 5-yard scoring run up the middle, and Zappala who finished the day with two scores on the ground.

The Wolfpack (1-0) will host the Northeastern Bulldogs (0-1) Saturday July 31st at 1 PM at Manchester West High School.

Levesque Inaugural Inductee to Wolfpack Hall of Fame

Jim LevesqueAfter capping a decade long career with an MVP award-winning season in 2009, linebacker Jim Levesque has been named the first member of the Wolfpack Hall of Fame. Levesque has been the centerpiece of the Wolfpack defense in each of his seasons with the team and was the key cog in helping the team finish with the #1 ranked and championship winning defense in 2009. Jim's #5 jersey will be retired from use by future players. The Wolfpack will surely miss the perennial all-star and two-time NEFL Defensive MVP's veteran leadership both on and off the field.

NEFL 'A' Division Moves to 18 Team Format

With the addition of five teams, the NEFL's 'A' division will expand to 18 teams in 2010. There will be a Northern Division, which includes the Wolfpack, and a Southern Division. There are 5 brand new clubs such as the Northeastern Bulldogs out of Chelmsford MA, the Seacoast Vipers who will be in Exeter NH, and the Cape Cod Crusaders. Despite the handful of fresh teams there will still be plenty of history to fuel rivalries for the Wolfpack in 2010. They will share a division with the Vermont Ravens who fell to the Wolfpack in the 2009 A Championship, the Southern Vermont Storm who knocked the Pack out of the 2008 playoffs, and long time rivals the Tyngsboro Beavers.

Wolfpack Begin Preseason Practices

The New Hampshire Wolfpack are coming off a 2009 season that saw the team win its 1st NEFL Championship, rank #1 in defense, and #3 in offense. Probably not much work to be done heading into to 2010, right? Not so if you ask Wolfpack Head Coach Jim Harmon. "We truly believe that games are won through preparation. Any chance we have at success this year is going to come because of what we put in on the practice field. That starts now."

This is a football team, but you may not know it by watching the first hour of practice. Footballs, helmets, and shoulderpads are nowhere to be find but harnesses and conditioning courses are aplenty. "Its kind of tough but you just gotta push through it to get to the fun stuff," said defensive end Dennis Hill.

Kind of tough is one way to describe it but the slew of players either revisiting their lunch or gasping for air may put it differently. "Honestly, it's a little crazy," said quarter back Jim Sanford, "but it's worth it. We have a big bullseye on us going into this year so some sweat now will make things easier this Summer."

The Wolfpack will continue preaseason practices through to the end of May each Sunday 12:30 p.m at Manchester West High School. Any interested players or coaches should contact jharmon@nhwolfpack.org for more info.
